Since igniting on Tuesday, July 24, the Park Fire has ravaged Butte, Tehama, Plumas, and Shasta counties, consuming over 389,000 acres and destroying 358 structures.
As of today, the Park Fire ranks as California's sixth-largest wildfire in history, with containment at less than 15%. Mandatory evacuations have displaced entire communities, leaving many families without power or access to essential supplies. Sadly, for many, this is a familiar and heartbreaking situation.
Nathan Liu, founder of the Silvanus Foundation, has partnered with the California Fire Foundation (CFF) for the past five years. Through fundraising efforts, the foundation has supported 20 scholarships for the children of deceased firefighters and Maui wildfire and disaster fund.
In alignment with our mission, the founder of the Silvanus Foundation announce that we will assist CFF in promoting and supporting the California Wildfire & Disaster Relief Fund within its communities. Currently, CFF is prioritizing aid for eligible survivors by distributing 1,000 $250 Disaster Relief cash cards, totaling more than $250,000 in rapid assistance. To facilitate this distribution, CFF is partnering with Northern Valley Catholic Social Services in Oroville.
The Silvanus Foundation aims to raise $7,500 to support 30 of these $250 Disaster Relief cash cards and donate them to CFF's Wildfire & Disaster Relief Fund. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, all cash donations to the Silvanus Foundation are 100% tax-deductible.
